Born in New York, and educated at the University of Michigan, Andy started in his work in the San Francisco Bay Area as an assistant editor at Access Video Productions. He moved on to freelance work, shooting and editing various projects involving interviews, action choreography, and music videos. To date, he has directed two short narratives, including Market Penetration (2005).
